Loans in Poland are offered by both individuals, banks and private companies. Those offered by banks are considered “safe”, while loans offered by private entities, in particular loans advertised as “without unnecessary formalities”, such as a Pesel loan – are not necessarily anymore.
Personal loans in Poland
There are many types of loans available under different rules. Some of them are less attractive due to very high interest rates and serious consequences in the event of non-repayment. The next ones tempt with convenient and individually adjusted repayment dates, total cost, convenient interest rate on the loan, and additionally easy availability.

How do I apply for a loan?
Applications for loans in Poland can be submitted at a bank branch or via the online form, if available. However, not only banks are engaging in the activity of loan services, this sector of the financial market is saturated with many private companies that are ready to help in the absence of finance. Let’s not forget, however, that for a reason bank loan offers are harder to access and are full of formalities, and the loan amounts are lower. This is all because banks limit the security of repayment to the borrower to the maximum, thus ensuring the certainty that their money will return to them along with the contractually calculated interest.
Loan / loan with or without collateral?
People living and working in Poland have the option of applying for a cash or mortgage loan. Cash loans can be granted without guarantors or collateral, up to a certain amount – after exceeding it, certain collateral is required so that the lender or lender can be certain that by transferring the money to us, he will recover it as specified in the contract. Applications can be submitted online or at a branch of a selected bank or company.
PESEL database – what is it and what data does it collect?
Every day, each of us uses personal data. This is normal, but requires caution so that at some point it does not turn out that the personal data provided by us – in this case the PESEL number, fell into the wrong hands and were used against us. There is a Universal Electronic System of Population Register in Poland, in which the most important information regarding the identity and administrative and legal status of Polish citizens and foreigners residing in the Republic of Poland have been collected.
PESEL – in simple terms, it is a series of digits that allows to identify a specific person. Therefore, the PESEL database contains information on age, sex, place of residence, country of birth, marital status, parents’ first and last names, date of check-out from the place of permanent residence, not without reason, so only representatives have access to the PESEL database authorities, such as the police, prosecutor’s office, guard and state control bodies.
How do PESEL loans work?
There are times when we urgently need money. For some reason, the bank refuses to grant us a loan or offers too low amounts. We don’t have friends who could “save us” with the amount we need, relatives are also unable to support us or we just don’t want to worry about them with our problems. Then what? Then there is a dangerous moment. We are looking for any opportunity to get the money you need. We review the loan offers of private companies offering financial services such as “loan for ID”, ” loan for PESEL “, etc.
These types of financial services are a dangerous activity, because unless we are able to give away this money very quickly and with a sufficiently high percentage, then financial problems may begin, which we have not even dreamed of.
Loans for proof are a fairly well-known form of providing financial assistance, but loans for PESEL have also become popular recently. It is not recommended to use this method of financial assistance. After all, it is not without reason that no bank or other major financial institution has a “PESEL loan” service on offer. A PESEL loan is a financial service considered to be a very high risk service.
Advantages of PEEL loans
If anything can be said about the advantages of loans for PESEL, it is only that they are granted immediately and for amounts higher than those offered by banks and other loan companies. So, if the speed of receiving money is important to you and you need an amount greater than what you can get from a bank, private loan company or borrow from your loved ones or friends, then you will probably look at PESEL loans as an attractive solution.
Remember, however – PESEL loans are dangerous activities that can cause you even more trouble, unless you are able to quickly give the lender the money collected, of course, plus the amount “for the service.”
PESEL loans – is it worth the risk?
The main problem that we may encounter with services such as “PESEL loans” is that the conditions for granting them, although we initially look at them with a grain of salt, may later be impossible or very difficult to meet. PESEL loans are financial services provided with a very high interest rate and for very short periods. Considering that the big (and maybe the only) advantage of PESEL loans is that they are also granted for high amounts, higher than those offered by banks or other financial companies – this is the amount we are then forced to pay back be even several times higher.
The problem is also that the PESEL number, as a sensitive personal data, is a valuable acquisition for people with bad intentions, for cheaters who, instead of helping us, will only put us in even more serious trouble, incurring other obligations, of course without our knowledge.
How can you check whether your PESEL number has been fooled?
Phishing personal data is a popular phenomenon used by dishonest companies and individuals. In particular, these types of activities are a consequence of providing your sensitive data to unverified persons or companies who have a wide range of possibilities when it comes to giving us trouble.
It is not, however, that by providing your PESEL number anywhere / to anyone, we have no control over what happens to it. With the help of the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) report, we have the opportunity to check that we are not listed as non-payers.
The BIK register contains all information illustrating the actual state of our creditworthiness. This is where we can check whether we have any loans / credits, how many we have and if their repayments are on time.
How can you protect yourself?
Nothing will give you a full guarantee that your sensitive data will be secure – just as nothing will protect you from losing creditworthiness as a result of creating an obligation and not repaying it by a person who has your PESEL number. However, you have the option of minimizing this risk. How?
First of all, do not give your PESEL number and other sensitive data to people or companies that do not inspire your trust or are not checked and known as “fair”. What else?
The Credit Information Bureau also offers a service called “Alert BIK”. It is a practical solution that protects against the creation of a liability in the form of taking a credit or loan by a third party on our data. This service works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and consists in the fact that when you try to create such an obligation, you are notified by e-mail or SMS. In a situation where you are not before borrowing PESEL from dishonest lenders, immediately report this matter to the police!
